About
DC SPC, a 501(c)3 non-profit, is a collective made up of dedicated street photographers from the DC, MD, VA areas who are devoted to producing, sharing, and creatively capturing the human condition and their interaction with everyday life to create images that go “beyond the frame.” The objective is also to foster growth for other collective members as well as members of the community. The group was founded by Ryan Madison in May of 2018.
WHAT WE DO:
We foster growth for all photographers who are interested in raising the bar of their work through a meaningful conversation on and offline, photo walks, and artist talks with open call to artists. Everyone and anyone is invited to participate regardless of experience or camera type.
Since our first meet up October 13th, 2019 we've been actively searching for a new way to involve the community at large. We offer indoor and outdoor critique sessions depending on weather, and monthly meetings give individuals the chance to share experiences, tip & techniques and the feeling you get when you realize there are so many other people facing the same hurdles on their own photography.
We offer members and the public an opportunity to explore street photography through engagement with a local like-minded community that shares information, tools, and promotes each other's work. We will also have annual member exhibitions/book releases, workshops, and events to highlight photographs from our members or talented photographers we discover who follow and tag us using the #DC_SPC hashtag.
